How to Attend Your Online POA Video Call
The Dubai Courts have made notarizing your Power of Attorney fully digital. Follow this simple guide to understand exactly what happens during your verification video call.
Strict Requirement: Original Emirates ID Only
You must present your Physical, Original Emirates ID during the video call.
The Notary Public will reject the application if you only show a photocopy, a printed picture, or a digital copy on your phone.
Identity Verification
Once connected, the Dubai Courts notary officer will ask you to identify yourself. You must hold your original Emirates ID card directly next to your face so the officer can clearly see the card details and verify that it matches your live appearance.
Draft & Content Verification
After successfully verifying your identity, the notary will review the contents of the drafted Power of Attorney with you. They will confirm the specific powers you are granting and ask you verbally if you fully understand and agree to the draft.
OTP Sent to Your Mobile
Upon your verbal agreement, the Dubai Courts system will generate an OTP (One-Time Password) to collect your digital signature. This OTP will be sent immediately via SMS to the mobile number registered to your Emirates ID / UAE Pass.
Provide Digital Signature
You will simply read the OTP to the notary officer. This officially registers your digital signature to the Power of Attorney document.
Finalization & Issuance
Once the video call ends, the signed document is submitted to the Dubai Courts. After the Dubai Courts' final verification, the official Electronic POA is issued.
